Green Juice Fast – Day 3

Green Juice Fast – Day 3

Well today was day 3 of my first month of juice fasting.  I discovered that $30 of produce that will fit in a roughly 15 gallon tub will last me at least 2 days.  Really, my experience throughout the last year is that anywhere you go, a decent lunch is going run you about $20.  Sure you can buy a salad for around $7 to $10, but I’m talking about a balanced meal such as grilled salmon with steamed vegetables with wild/brown rice, or something balanced like that.  And that’s just lunch – not including breakfast and dinner!  The average cost for one person to eat a healthy, balanced, normal meal is around $60 at present.  I probably have enough green juice for at least 1 more day (about 7 12 oz servings).  Thus, it seems that my juice fast is only costing me about $10 a day – that’s less than it costs to have a ‘healthy’ meal almost anywhere else (in theUS that is)!

Basic Status

I haven’t had a bowel movement in 3 days now and I’m not sure when it will come, my stomach hasn’t really felt that rumbly.  But the last solid food I ate was crunch nut mix so when it finally does come I’m sure it’s going to be solid.

My cough that I was developing has all but subsided as I had predicted.  I credit the juice to fixing that.

My anal rash/itching situation has been subsiding.  I discovered the best solution seems to be applying the peppermint ointment, with strength upped to about 30 drops of both peppermint and tea tree oils per 1 teaspoon of raw honey.  Mix well the dip your finger in it and basically caulk your asscrack with it.  I’ve used this technique to heal cuts in the corner of my eye as well.  Anyway, after caulking from ball-sack to the top of my buttcrack, I digitally insert the finger to basically apply the salve to the inner 1 to 2 inches of my anus.  Essentially we are using the salve as a home-made hemorrhoid cream in this instance.  Then finally, squeeze about 2 teaspoons or so of raw aloe vera gel on your hand and use it to coat over the same buttcrack-ial region.  You may have to experiment to find out what amount of salve vs. skin gel works best for you.

Make sure to only use aloe gel that is APPROVED FOR INTERNAL USE – Most gels that you find in GNC or Vitamin Shoppe do not qualify and are for external use only.  In fact, I have only found one company that makes this stuff – it’s called Aloe Life Skin Gel.  Your best bet is to try a local food place or order from Amazon.

Last night I gained valuable knowledge and built a mock up for solving a ticket at work.  I learned how to use jQuery .toggle method, how to make a button or link that opens or closes using toggle or open/close using separate buttons.  I also learned to implement the jquery.wordWrap.js plugin which is cross-browser compatible and lets you set up a toggle or checkbox to wrap or unwrap a textbox (textarea form tag) on the fly.

Additionally, I tried to implement the code from the Simple Toggle with CSS & jQuery tutorial.  However, just pulling the code snippets from the site and running them together didn’t create a working application.  Only when I did a “view source” and copy-pasted the whole page source did I get an actual working application.  This seems like a nice tutorial, but time will be needed to figure out what the framework is that is needed to make it function correctly.

I also discovered that the easiest was to create a decent WordPress blog is to write it up in MS Word first, taking advantage of all Word’s spelling, dictionary, proofreading, and editing features.  Then, copy paste your article into WordPress’ plain text box tab (as opposed to the HTML box tab).  Save and upload and you are good to go!  This way is a lot faster and easier than trying to type everything in a 2 inch window and then manually updating every 5 minutes.  The only caveat is that what appears as one blank line between paragraphs in Word, shows up as two in WordPress.  Don’t worry about that, it’s just a glitch on cut-paste.  You get the correct formatting if you you click the HTML tab once, then back to the visual – voila!  Now layout should be good.

Finally, I have my eye on a nice camera.  It goes for around $200 but will be on sale for about $150 at Sam’s Club on Black Friday.  I think I can wait another week or two to save some dough, although I would like to get a picture of what I look like now.  I had been worried because the camera on my phone takes great pics from faraway, but up-close (arms-length) it distorts somewhat, which I find unacceptable for the types of accurate body-documentation photos I need to take.  Wait a minute …

You know how sometimes you run into an obstacle you can’t seem to solve, and the you go and ask someone for help, but in the process of explaining the problem to them you come up with the solution without them having said a word?  There should be a name for that, shouldn’t there?  Anyway, that just happened to me.  While I was telling you my reason for needing a new camera and being dismayed that I can’t take decent pics with my camera phone from 3 feet away, nor will it mount on a tripod, I realized that I could take my “before” body photos with my webcam, which still isn’t the greatest but will do in pinch!  Yay for autosolved TM © problems!  So, I guess I just coined a new term today:

autosolve:          The process of solving your own previously unsolvable problem by explaining it to someone else, without them having any input.

USAGE: “Though I persisted for hours, I just couldn’t figure out what was wrong with my code.  So, I went to Tom for help, but while I was explaining the problem to him I autosolved it, so I was able to get the code working and turned in on time”

NOTE:                        The terms “auto” and “solve” have been long been used together in various combinations, which a simple Google search will reveal.  However, those have mostly been as proper names for companies.  So, this is indeed the first instance of the verb autosolve and it’s birthday is today (11.11.13). J

One immediate difference is that instead of sleeping in till 8 or getting up and still being too tired to function, since I started my fast 3 days ago I have been waking up each morning at 6:30 AM on the dot!

To Do:

  • Use jQuery to dynamically create links for keywords on pages
  • Design site so it still has the basic functionality if JavaScript is disabled on user end
  • Raw and organic food locator with Google Maps API
  • Haunted places locator with Google Maps API
  • How to implement jQuery on my WordPress blog?
  • Bulletproof web design that doesn’t rely on styling or scripting, but rather is enhanced by it
  • How to add images as bullets?  Add different images based on li attributes?
  • How to dynamically add bullets to paragraphs?  (replace p tags with a wrapped li and ul structure)
  • How to include custom or external css file in WordPress?
  • Best formatting for definitions?
  • Best formatting for code in blog posts (programming fonts)
  • Best free photo hosting for blogs?

Day 2, or as I like call it: The NEW day 1

Posted by kristobaldude on November 12, 2011

(8:30 PM)

So I broke down yesterday, after drinking juice all day at work, when I got home and ended up eating some nut mix and some oriental crackers, and chocolate covered toffe nuts (delish!).   I was just way hungry and my burning hemorrhoid was really putting a damper on my day.  That’s why this is now the true start of my juice-fast.

I read a quote somewhere to the effect of everyone thinks that talk about farts and poop and problems with your butthole is amusing unless you happen to be one of the people suffering with those problems.  I believe that IBS, Chron’s, Constipation, Diarrhea, … even Fibromyalgia, are all basically the same thing.  That is, they are manifestations of your body’s inability to succesfully rid itself of toxins that have built up over time.  In my mind this would explain why many folks, (yours truly included), can go for 20 or 30 years never having a problem until all of a sudden, seemingly “out-of-the-blue”, they are stricken with some ‘incurable’ disease.

Some practitioners of Alternative Medicine actually hold that the whole concept of “disease” is a mindset perpetuated by the medical industry who’s underlying goal appears to be money rather than altruistic concern for people’s health, based on a misunderstanding of what is being observed.  I have to agree with them for the most part.

I laid on bed chest down last night after applying a some aloe vera gel internally and externally up and down my buttcrack because I had actually developed some kind of jock itch, but on my taint and around my anus.  The only thing that seemed to help is a virtual cure all salve I invented about 3 years ago, which is basically a mixture of raw honey, and about 10 drops of peppermint oil and 10 drops of tea tree oil.

The honey is a natural antibiotic and healer.  The tea tree fights infections and fungus, and the peppermint provides a burning/cooling sensation that kinda makes the itching go away.  Many of us are aware that histamine is the “itch” chemical that gets activated when you have a rash, or hives, or get bitten by mosquitos.  I suppose its likely that peppermint temporarily (effects lasting 2 to 12 hours depending on dosage) suppresses histamine in some way.  Anyway, all I know is I made it, I tested it, and it works and I’ve been using it for years.  In fact, I’ve used my salve for all kinds of things including ear infection (instant relief/3 days to fully clear), basic cuts (instead of triple antibiotic, although in severe cases only tripAB seemed to do the job quickly).  And much much more.

On the same note, after having innefective experience with OTC athlete’s foot medicine, and not willing to pay the cost to go to a doctor and get a prescription for high strength anti-fungal medicine, I looked into herbs and natural medicines, and it’s actually been so long now that I don’t even remember exactly how I came up with it, but I think i just read somewhere that peppermint oil soothes itches and rashes and such.  So, I said ‘hey, let’s throw some peppermint oil in with my hemp lotion and see what happens’.  And again, I’ve been using the same recipe for years as an athlete’s foot cream.  I mix about 2 oz of lotion with 10-20 drops of peppermint oil.  The only change I made was adding tea-tree oil, but about 5-7 drops.  Works like a frickin’ charm.

Well, I’m getting tired so let me just bullet point some random things real quick:

  • in North Florida, where I live, it was freekin’ cold today (48 ° C).  Don’t get me wrong, I’ve come from Iowa where it regularly dips to 20 below in Winter.  But here in Florida, it was 80 ° the day before!
  • I made my firs green juice today with my top-of-the-line, Dan the Man approved Breville $400 I-forget-the-name badass juice machine.  Ingredients were 3 types of apples including granny smith, gala, and some heirloom variety, carrots, celery, ginger, romaine lettuce, and collard greens.  It wasn’t bad.  It made almost exactly 36 fl oz which I poured into 2 Nalgene bottles.
  • Hems not itching as bad today as yesterday.
  • I believe due to the drastic overnight temperature differential I am starting to develop a tickle/itch/cough in my throat.  Also experienced hiccups today as well.
  • Last night right before bed I made a test webpage that demonstrates jQuery, PHP, and self-posting forms, built with Komodo.
  • Purchased and registered rawlifewizard.com and thrashmetalmania.com — Fuck yeah!  I can’t believe nobody had those yet.  But I lucked out and got what I wanted the first time … (power of attraction/secret anyone?)
  • Brought rest of my nut snacks to work today, threw out last of my salsa and began the first step on a long journey towards complete healing and health!  I am shooting for a 30 day juice fast ( I did 35 days on nothing but grapes one time so we’ll see how this goes) … baby steps … and hopefully extend it to a year if I see that I’m continuing to get health and wellness improved by staying on it.
  • Note, as part of the “healing crisis” that results from triggering your body’s detox process, I think that could explain why my teeth are hurting after drinking 14 oz of my green concoction.

So, overall things are great!  I made my 40 hours this week so I will proably stay home and do laundry and work on some programming stuff.  I plan to apply the aloe gel everyday this weekend along with the peppermint salve.  If all goes well, my fungal infection will be totally erradicated, and the cracked skin that resulted as a complication in my butt-crack should have almost completely healed.

Have a great night and Be Blessed!

Welcome to the home of Raw Life Wizard on WordPress!

Posted by kristobaldude on November 10, 2011

11/10/118:05 AMWelcome! If you are new to this blog let me tell you what you can expect.  This blog is going to be RAW and UNFILTERED.  It is about the gory details of REAL LIFE and IF YOU ARE SQUEAMISH ABOUT BODILY FUNCTIONS & FLUIDS then This blog is probably not for you and you should TURN BACK NOW.  It is also about HOPE and INSPIRATION so there will be entries on the Secret, Power Of Attraction, Self Help, Tony Robbins, Napoleon Hill, and various other spirituality, healing, and green living topics.  There will be posts on NATURAL HEALING, and JUICE FASTING right next to articles with words real people use to describe bodily functions including shit, piss, poop, defecate, take a dump, bowel movement.  Further, I’m not gay either, however, since my physical problems mostly have to do with hemorrhoids and constipation, many of this posts will be graphic descriptions of various enemas, suppositories, and other insertions.  If you are not mature enough to handle real talk like this then, again, you should probably leave this blog.   However, if you are ready for a first hand “in-the-trenches” account of the the US Medical System, efficacy of various Alternative Health methodologies and practitioners, semi-medical explanations of trials and results of amature experiements in self-healing then please … read on!ABOUT ME:

I am a 36 year old programmer who has held various positions in the IT field.  In 1999 (when I was only 24) I mysteriously, after life a life of (what I thought was) almost complete health and having been sick only a few times in my life and never having a major surgery except my tonsillectomy when I was 8, contracted a case of chronic accute constipation which I still have not been able to rid myself of to this day.  I have seen over 50 doctors including General Practitioners and Specialist at various hospitals and clinics across the US including the prestigious Mayo Clinic, University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, and Oregon Health & Science University, to name a few of the best.  Despite their greatest efforts, these allopathic (traditional western medicine) professionals have been unable to offer anything short of figurative bandaids for my condition.  Therefore, I have turned to Natural “Alternative” Healing methods in hope of still finding a cure.

It is really ‘Chicken/Egg’ as to which came first, but my symptoms have always included:

  • Pain in lower right abdomen which progresses up my middle right back and down my groin almost to my knee until I can pee or poop.
  • When I pee I get relief and when I poop I get relief, but I usually pee when I sit to poop so is really just relief from peeing in both cases?
  • Chronic constipation, not being able to poop for 3 days or more
  • Chronic feeling exhausted, although appearing to be in perfect health on the outside …

Well, it’s off to work for me so I have to cut this blog short .  I am starting a new juice fast today, which I am going to aim for a year, but we’ll see what happens with my current job.  I’m still in the probationary period so, yeah.

A few more random comments before I close this post:

  • I threw away my ice cream today
  • I’m taking my candy corn and nuts to work for those guys
  • I have to hit Publix or Winn Dixie and get some bottled green juice and orange juice before work today.
  • I did a digital insertion with raw honey and it has offered some relief

Well, TCFN folks.  Be kind to yourself and have a great day.  Be blessed!
