life of an EXTRAordinary person living in this planet

object is something we create out of the class. it is already built-in.

function Object(){

var x = new Object(); //

}

Object o = new Object(); is like saying var r = {};// how to create an empty object.

var r = {}’;

r.name = “Rommel”;

r.id = “006”;

r.dept = “admin”;

Orthogonal – there are many ways to achieve the result.

function goo() { // function block
return “Hello”;

}

var s = goo();
console.log(s);

goo = “1”; // iniba dito ang value ng goo. functions are like ordinary variables.

console.log(goo());

Comodo AntiVirus

Below are some resources I found when searching for answers and solutions for the issue of “Why is Comodo blocking localhost?”. I didn’t have time to write up a complete article, but I wanted to get the links posted so that hopefully it will save anyone else searching on this topic at least a little bit of time. If you found this post useful, please let me know in the comments below!

Is the firewall blocking telnet? Is the telnet service running on the

remote machine?

http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/t1050070308

Shaun, I solved my problem. It was Symantec Personal Firewall: although disabled, it blocked ICMP (so any pinging – even the loopback – timeouted), https, file sharing was blocked… I removed it completely (add/remove programs could not do it, Symantec deinstal neither. Only after deleting all Symantec local-machine registry keys with regedit I was able do remove the “stuck” firewall and reinstal it.) Everything works now. I suggest you check any installed firewall on your XP (check also the built-in XP firewall).

IE7 Can’t Connect To Localhost Opera Can’t Connect to Locahost

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Maybe it has something to do with the “hosts” file? When I set up MySQL originally, the tutorial did not say “make sure you have a static ip”, although that may have been assumed. I had a dynamic ip at the time, so perhaps localhost is defined in the host table as whatever my ip was when I installed MySQL, in which case, since I now have a static ip, a solution might be to edit the hosts file to read the current static ip value.

Also, another thing to consider is that there is a known issue that if you have Skype running in the taskbar before you start up WAMP server, for instance, you will not be able to execute PHP code in your IDE (integrated development environment) because for some reason it prevents Apache server from fully starting.  Perhaps this problem discussed in this post shares a similar solution?  If anyone comes up with the solution to this one please post it in the comments below and let me know what worked for you!

Peace & Blessings! 🙂

Free CSS Image Bullets: Marijuana Weed Leaf with Drop Shadow

Posted by kristobaldude on April 30, 2012

Free CSS Image Bullets: Marijuana Weed Leaf with Drop Shadow

Why I’m Publishing These Images For Everyone to Use:

I created these marijuana/weed/hemp/ganja css image bullets yesterday. It took about 30 minutes to locate and try various leaf images and select a final one, and the work itself took about 1.5 hours to design and finalize with Photoshop CS3. I would have settled for some premade css weed bullets, but I didn’t find any I liked. So I found the best leaf photo I could, stroked it, laid on a drop-shadow, and reduced the size before saving it. When I was finished, I decided I’d make these images available for anyone to use under the creative commons license below.

Instructions:

Just right-click and choose save image.

In Praise Of Jeff Duntemann … An Ode To Fun, Easy-To-Read Programming Books

Posted by kristobaldude on February 19, 2011

Jeff Duntemann

Jeff Duntemann

Around 1998 I was working as an Electronics Engineer at a local slaughterhouse called IBP (now owned by Tyson Chicken) and it was there in the meager collection of reference books available that I discovered the book “Assembly Language Step-By-Step“, by Jeff Duntemann.  I was blown away.  Though it has been over 10 years since I read this book, if I

Assembly Language Step By Step, 1992 ed.

Assembly Language Step By Step, 1992 ed.

remember correctly, the way Mr. Duntemann explained these weighty technical concepts was by analogizing a great quest, like Homer‘s Oddyssey or the Wizard of Oz.  I would like to get ahold of this book again so I can re-read it with new eyes.

The author has a great writing style that is accessible to everyone – much akin to Isaac Asimov‘s non-fiction work.

Most are familiar with Asimov’s science ficition books (I Robot & Foundation trilogy being his most famous), but did you know that Asimov was also a very technically competent and prolific writer on everthing from the Bible to modern (40’s to 60’s era) science?  If you have not experienced Asimov’s flowing an easy-going prose I suggest checking out Isaac Asimov’s Guide to Earth and Space, Asimov’s Chronology of the World, and (my favorite) the out-of-print Asimov On Numbers.

If you are familiar with Asimov’s science “explanation” works, or the show “Connections” by James Burke then you already have some idea of the writing style of Jeff Duntemann.

Although assembly language as a prolific and practical programming system is practically obsolete at the time of this writing, I would still recommend Assembly Language Step by Step as an interesting read and one worth having in your collection.

SOLVED! Dreamweaver CS3 ColdFusion “preview in browser” not working or broken (Windows)!

Posted by kristobaldude on June 12, 2010

ColdFusion

ColdFusion

Dreamweaver CS3 “preview in browser” not working!

I found this solution after much research – it is a cached Google post and the original site doesn’t seem to exist anymore:

Apr 20 2010 RE: cannot test to IE or Firefox using Dreamweaver 8 html or cf sites
Posted By: Randy

I realize that the original post is very old, but I too had a similar problem that was really giving me fits. I finally figured out the solution. It seems that for some reason ColdFusion shuts down unexpectedly from time to time. No rhyme or reason for it. My solution was to go restart ColdFusion. Here are the steps to do that in Win XP. Goto Control Panel Open Administrative Tools Open Services Select the ColdFusion Application Either click on the Start the service or right click and select “Start”. Should work like a charm. At least it did for me. I have no idea why ColdFusion service keeps stopping though. This has been plaguing me for months now. I kept searching for a solution and kept coming back to this post. Thought others might be doing the same thing.

SOLUTION: Restarted failed Main ColdFusion service.
